Terms and Conditions

Pupil Terms and Conditions

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before signing.

Tuition

Tuition is only available to persons who meet the following criteria:

· Aged 17 or over or aged 16 and in receipt of the higher rate of disability allowance (mobility component); and

· Hold a valid UK provisional driving licence; and

· Legally entitled to drive in the UK

Cancellations of Lessons

If you wish to cancel a lesson a minimum of 24 hours prior notice must be given.

Cancellations must be made directly between you and your instructor.  If you do not give 24 hours’ notice your instructor is entitled to charge you the full amount for the lessons concerned.

Your instructor reserves the right to cancel the lesson on the day if they judge that you are not fit to drive for any reason.  You may still be charged.

Refunds

You are entitled to cancel your prepaid tuition in line with the cancellation policy.  If you have not taken any lessons in a pre-paid block of lessons then you are entitled to a full refund.  If you have taken some lessons from a pre-paid block then these lessons will be charged at full lesson price and a refund given for the remaining balance.

Refunds will be made via bank transfer.  Refunds may take up to 10 working days to reach your account.

Lessons

The contract for driving is solely between you and your instructor.

You and your instructor are responsible for agreeing all matters relating to timing, location and duration of individual lessons. You must inform your instructor of any matters that may affect your ability or right to drive, for example, but not limited to, any lack or loss of a valid UK provisional driving licence.

Your instructor will do everything possible to ensure that your lessons start and finish on time, but reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change lesson lengths and start/finish times under certain circumstances (e.g. dangerous weather conditions). In the event of postponement fees paid in advance will be carried forward.

Payment

Payment must be made by cash or bank transfer before the start of the lesson.  If purchasing a block of lessons then full payment must be received before the first lesson in the block.

Driving Tests

Your instructor reserves the right to withdraw the use of their car if in their professional opinion they do not feel you are ready for the test.

While your instructor will make every effort to ensure that the vehicle supplied for test will be fully road worthy and comply with all legal requirements at the start of the test, he/she cannot be held responsible for vehicle failure that occurs during the test and is not liable for consequential loss. Your instructor cannot be held responsible for test appointments cancelled by the DVSA due to bad weather, sickness, staff shortages or other reasons. Such cancellations are beyond the control of your instructor and therefore the lesson fee and ‘use of car’ fee for the booked period will be charged. Your instructor will advise about claiming compensation from the DVSA.

Code of Conduct

Your instructor agrees to abide by the conditions of the Professional Code of Conduct (a copy of which will be provided on request). In the unlikely event of complaint or dispute the guidelines of the Code of Conduct will be adhered to.
